February 21-a wedding, and Rachael Ray!

today was quite an interesting day. Several months ago, 3chicksthatclick.com-the company I founded with Alyse Liebowitz, booked a wedding for Wednesday February 21. We were to meet in Central Park. The couple were flying here from Austrailia and we never spoke on the phone or met them in person-everything was arranged via internet and e-mail. We were to meet at 10:30am. By 10:45, they still had not arrived. We knew they were going to go to a place in Brooklyn and all we had was the name and address and that they were to be there at noon so we figured if ew didn't see them by 11:30, we would head to Brooklyn. Every couple that walked by, Alyse wondered if it could be them. None was in a wedding dress, but we didn't even know if they were going to be dressed up. After all, who gets married in Central Park-outside, in February? (we thought that maybe they thought it was also our summer since it is now summer in Austrailia. All of a sudden, I see a woman walking wearing a wedding dress. I said "Alyse..look!" Her response was "do you think that's her?" I said..."how many women do you think would be in a wedding dress on a Wednesday in NYC in the middle of winter?"
Liam and Nadia were wonderful. 22 of their friends flew in from Austrailia to be at their wedding. They handled everything via the internet, and everything was just amazing.
So many photographers hate shooting weddings, complain about it. We love it. We are a part of one of the most special days for a couple, we make spectacular images and have a lot of fun.

Afterwards, it was off to Madam Tussaud's Wax Museum in Times Square to photograph Rachael Ray with the unveiling of her wax figure.
The wedding of Liam and Nadia was definitely more fun.
